Okay, so Im going to cross-post this from my LJ, but here's a bit of an update:

Last year I had a very bad experience at otakon that almost caused me to stop going to cons altogether. Against all my instincts, I went again, and Otakon 2008 reminded me why I went there the first four times. I had a blast.. Regardless of the fact that my hotel was a couple blocks away and I got heckeled by drunken baseball fans whenever I had to traverse between them.

I ended up not even wearing cloud.. Most of the con I was Either xemnas or kyouya, though I did make a splash for about five hours on saturday in my Dragoon AF2 costume. There were a LOT of FFXI cosplayers, and ALL of them were impressive. No half-assed costumes. We hunted most of them down and had a photo shoot, of which I hope I can find pictures from.

I made a lot of friends, and got praised for my attitude towards other cosplayers of my own genre [and others, though I did get annoyed with the TWO HOUR BLEACH SHOOT omg x.x]

Thats not to say there was NO drama, but there was so little that I really just don't care to talk of it. I ended up buying a blonde wig at con and turning into Tamaki on the last day as well.. That alone made me want to lose weight again.. Not that I didnt want to before, but after seeing a video of me, and how fat I looked, I really do want to get to work on it, hurting joints or not. Time to DDR it up! I just need to rid myself of the junk food here first.
